Wombwell Reservoir - Barnsley

Wombwell Reservoir, Wombwell, Barnsley.

The water has now been taken over by new owners June and John Tollerfield and they will continue our arrangement for three of our members to fish at any one time on the production of a current SYPAC membership card.
Clive Westlake has now negotiated on the Club's behalf for the 2011/12 season and the same arrangements apply until the 31st December 2011. Please see the message below from June.

The fishery, although hidden away from the public eye is really easy to find, just come off the M1 at junction 36 and take the ring road the A6195 towards Wath and Doncaster. After you have gone over a number of roundabouts you will notice a sign post for Wombwell on your left. This is Wood Walk, the B6096 go down here until you reach a cross roads, turn left here onto Dovecliffe Road. Follow this road until you come to the fishery entrance on your left; take a slow trip through the pretty woods until you reach the reservoir.

Hello,
I would just like to update information on Wombwell Dam please.

The Dam has recently been taken over by myself and husband John. We have REEL 'EM' IN
Tackle shop in Wombwell.

We look after it ourselves including being bailiffs.The Dam has now a new entrance, off
Woodhead Lane. Just off Hoyland roundabout on the bypass leading to Doncaster. There is
a new road and track down to a new fisherman's car park.

Day tickets on large bottom pond £5. Top pond reduced to £4 adults £3 children.

No under 14s on bottom pond without a responsible adult.

We will be holding open matches. Club matches. We also run junior fishing matches quite regularly.

There are plenty of fish in the ponds. We bought them off the previous leaseholder, so despite
various rumours of the fish being taken out they were not.
